While on tour with "EXCUSES FOR BAD BEHAVIOR" we were able to get an interview with Sandra who is as real and present as she is insightful. She is an activist in that she questions authority and the way we view things as "normal" - especially things that are not good for us. Then she wraps it all into a show and somehow makes it sexy to care. She is always way ahead of the curve of what's considered acceptable.. pushing the envelope towards our continual awakening with each new show she evolves herself through bringing her audience along to laugh at it all - as they come to see the beauty through the irony in our amazing world that is growing - one insight at a time.Julia Butterfly Hill - Other Alternatives Towards A Better World Category
Julia is a one of a kind spirit who transformed herself while she lived in a 1000 year old tree that she named LUNA - the tree taught her many things and being away from our culture many more things. She came down an international hero for helping to preserve the ancient forest and the environment in general. Yet even more for the way she went about it. She actually made friends with the Lumberjacks - so much so that when someone tried to cut down LUNA a year later. It was the Lumberjacks who put braces in it so the strong winds would not make it fall. LUNA still stands today as a symbol to the world of what people can do when they care. Through the Circle Of Life Foundations Julia and those who work with her continue to do all kinds of activism. She has written books (The Legacy Of Luna, One Makes The Difference) and is filled with love, joy, and inspiration in all she does. She is helping to reshape how we call attention to what is no longer good for any of us. In her story she tells us that family owned companies who did mostly selective cutting for years has some cut backs and were forced to sell their companies to huge corporations that now clear cut and so much so that towns like Stafford (near where LUNA stands) were turned into mud slides when it rains.. the trees used to hold the top soil in place. Thank you Julia for all you did by living in LUNA, yet more so all the work you have done since you came down and most of all for all the love in which you do it.All of these interviews will be featured in a future Peacefarm Productions about the creative side of activism in our new show: Creative Evolution
